Country Sampler Gatherings for Autumn

August 20, 2020

Creating a peaceful autumn haven is what we all dream about.  So lets dream big!

new set of 6 9 x 12 Framed botanical prints

At the Sampler I believe it is what we do best. For me it excites me when I get to change the decor, open all the new decor packages, and begin to fluff our nest for a new season.  Nesting has gotten to be popular these days as we have had to embrace staying home.  I must say I feel after so long people become more comfortable at home than going out.  We miss seeing our customers but the reality is what it is and that is why we are choosing to market ourselves more on line.

That means looking at our website, going to a blog post, looking through the different pages on the homepage, watching Facebook posts, registering for our constant contact newsletter and yes  even occasionally an Instagram post.

We always can be better and that is always our goal with my wonderful staff that help make this all happen.

We think layering makes a difference as you can see with the   botanical  framed prints I just put up.  How amazing does this lool and it is such a value @$165.00.  I have incorporated the wool “Pot of Violets” Maggie designed.  I did this piece and had it framed and as you can see it plays into the texture and layers that create such an interest in a wall vignette.  It really is a great wool project that was quick and fun to do.Th kit is available for $42.50.

Our days are noticeably getting shorter, the nights have been cooler, leaves are beginning to fall and Mr. Reeds Hydrangeas have taken over the whole  outside perimeter of the house.  Its a jungle, and I expect a call from the wild any day.

The shop has been changing daily and Krista even has our bargain basement open again and overflowing with wonderful indulgences to buy.

We have many great dried and silk products displayed through out the shop this season and you can expect even more for Christmas.   With a little imagination I think you can see with the many containers we have them displayed in how you can re-create your own display reflecting your home’s style.

On the top left you see the impressive wheat stalks and grasses framing the “Olde Mustard Moon” stitchery by Notforgotten Farm.

Our eucalyptus comes in sprays and wreaths and in light and dark and look amazing alone or mixed.  Fall would not be complete without good bittersweet and I love to wrap our garlands through out the shop.  The next two samplers are from La D Da.  “Virtue” is a favorite as “A Fine House Indeed.   Both samplers have wonderful houses as a focal and for me that is what makes the sampler more than amazing. Please remember the handwork is online if you would like to order anything you are seeing.

The Old White Pumpkin Pinkeep is another favorite and we have it kitted.

Notice the white accent light on the table on the left, we like this for many reasons, it is battery operated and stays on for six hours at a time and will come on for the same six hours everyday.  What a swell idea.

The next little sampler is by Kathy Barrick and it is called “Mary Anne March”.  We have done this sampler up two ways, the 36 count is clipped onto the most wonderful wooden display piece but can also be used as a roll up.  this kit is $42.75.   Our Pam also stitched a framed  version on 40 count. It is still at our framer but just as sweet.

Mary March

The clip board can be a great tool to display photos, a favorite quote or I see it with stitchery as I am showing you in the picture below.

The cost of the clip board is $29.70.  We have kits and you can have it on 36 or 40 count if you so desire.

I always find myself bringing out  With Thy Needle and Thread’s “Grateful Thankful” sampler.  This is such a  classic and so impressive and never goes out of style.  We have it displayed on another great easel, technically  sold for cook books but samplers  are our business and they look great on them.  Cost $27.50

We have had so many compliments on the Tin Acorn wall art.  It is pretty awesome and sells for $74.85.

Grateful Thankful

We do love our acorns in here and remember we have

mesh bags of light and dark acorns to sell for $12.50.  These are great in bowls and I think displaying them in the white dough bowls we sell would be another good option.

So going back to lighting ideas we have the best little nickel mesh wire lanterns ever.   They are so reasonable priced at $32.00.   I love the idea of putting in a great birch led candle and using them on the table or on the mantle.  These little birch candles are $24.00.  Can I just say the led candles today are so amazing and wait until our holiday touch and blow out Leds come in.  I can hardly believe it they look just like real candle wicks and you touch to light and blow out to shut off.

As we inch closer to the new season we are finally seeing some new samplers from a few of our great designers.  We  know there will be some pretty fantastic coming but without a date we can only temp you into watching the site and newsletter for actual details.

I do want to mention a few samplers.  Kathy Barrick has a new design known as “Jack’s Urn” and gosh sakes who doesn’t love an urn, a great house and a pumpkin?  I am digging the wallpaper background.  The new pattern sells for $12.00.

Carriage House Designs has also came up with a new feed sack design for Halloween.

Jack’s Urn

Remember the Reindeer Feed sack?  Well we know when we get a hold of it we will have to tweek colors and find the best ever finishing fabric and you will have one of the best fall feed sacks greeting your guests at your front door.  The feed sack is called “The Owls Beak Farm”.

Queen Anne’s Lace Quilt

We will have an amazing new line-up of inspiration for our quilters when we introduce our New Fall Quilt Collection” at our annual September Quilt Exhibition.  This collection  will debut on Tuesday September 8th through Saturday September 12th.   We have many great fall offerings we will be showing off in the next couple of weeks due to quilting and binding to get finished for our fall premier.  They will go on line hopefully on the weekend before Labor Day so you can do a little dreaming to see if you are in love with our choices.  My guess is you will be pretty amazed at what the girls have done.  We also hope to show you my newest Country Soiree” dropping into stores in December.  We will take pre-orders on these.

Here is a peek of “Queen Anne’s Lace” it is made from my Reed’s Legacy line of fabric. Mary is my designer.  You will love the use of a great Diamond texture it has.  It creates the interest that we love to put into our quilt projects.  We have great Queen Anne’s Lace coming in and the little Mary March Sampler are made to be displayed together.

Floral Baskets Quilt

The next quilt I am showing today is our Floral Baskets quilt that was designed by Paula Barnes for our Grand Ole Quilts event that never happened.  We have decided to release it rather than hold it over a year as it was too beautiful to just hold on to.  Again it is just a peek until we are officially ready to let it go online and in the shop.  There so many more things we are anxious to share but that will be another day.

The bed is dressed with Barb’s “Shake Rag Shoe Fly” quilt and a “Legacy Duvet Cover”.  so when I talk about layering there is never a better place to layer than in a bedroom or on a tabletop. You can also see the bags of acorns in the mesh basket and our best ever prim angel with a eucalyptus wreath around her neck.   Shake Rag Shoe Fly is a favorite, it is

Shake Rag Shoe Fly Quilt

65″ x 75″ and sells for $116.00.  Remember you will need a pattern when you order.  Patterns are $9.00

Here is another look at Stacy’s Stables and the Flanders Biscornu.  Still summer, still grand!  Who doesn’t love poppies and Stacy’s samplers she just knows how to do it best.  Kit is $92.50 on 36 count winter brew linen.

The deer are coming back into the decor and this new  buck will be finding a home in someone’s fall decor soon!

I think a wreath for holidays might be grand too. Stayed tuned for more fall updates on quilts, samplers and new decor.

Sometimes we love to just picture the beauty of fabric and today is one of those days.  It is what great older customer of ours likes to refer to as Yummers!

You might also want to notice the architectural window frame on the wall.

I love these and have also seen quilters frame favorite quilts under them.  It takes some thinking but the last picture a customer shared was awesome.  Dream Big girlfriends.
